Flexibility

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

We have learned that flexibility is the range of motion that your joints and muscles have to move. It is important for everyone to work on their flexibility as it can help to prevent injuries in sports, help your muscles to become stronger and improve your everyday life. There are many different ways that we can improve our flexibility from stretching, attempting to increase mobility and range of motion in exercises or through yoga. In the class that we have dedicated to flexibility, we will be looking at yoga.

For this class on flexibility, we will be doing a beginner yoga flow. "Flow" is just another word for routine. During these routine the poses that we will be doing are geared towards beginners. "Poses" are just different stretches and moves that you are supposed to hold for a period of time. Again due the pandemic and the social distancing protocols that are in place right now, we are not able to do this as a class. However, if you wanted to yoga requires very little equipment, just a mat if you want but you do not always need one. I have attached the video that we would be doing in class. If you want to, then you can go through the routine on your own. The full routine is about 45 minutes long, you do not need to do the whole just a section of it, if you want.

VERY IMPORTANT to remember it is your own fitness do not compare yourself to others in the class.
